Napperby Gorge
Napperby Gorge
Hidden by nature, Napperby Gorge Walking Trail is an arduous hike through the rugged landscapes of the Southern Flinders Ranges. Avid hikers enjoy trekking along the unestablished trail, following the creek bed through the towering rock formations of the gorge to Hells Gate Waterfall. The opportunities for social moments are plentiful with the textures of rockwalls and foliage serving as a backdrops, and the casting of light and shadow making for stunning photographs.
Under a 15 minute drive from Echo Holiday Parks – Port Pirie, there is a small roadside parking bay at the start of the trail. Enter using the Scout Camp, green, maze-gate and veer right until you reach the fork. Either way will lead to the gorge. This trail is not accessible to everyone. Hikers comfortable with self-navigation are recommended as the 1 hour return trail is moderately difficult with no directional markers.
