Heritage Walk
Take yourself back in time with a self-guided heritage walk to learn about the rich history and proud traditions of Port Pirie. Under a 5 minute drive from Echo Holiday Parks – Port Pirie, there is ample parking at the Visitor Information Centre where the walk begins. 2-3km long, the walk takes roughly an hour depending on your pace and time spent viewing the sights. Following paved sidewalks and well-maintained pathways, this trail is accessible to everyone.

Napperby Gorge
Hidden by nature, Napperby Gorge Walking Trail is an arduous hike through the rugged landscapes of the Southern Flinders Ranges. Avid hikers enjoy trekking along the unestablished trail, following the creek bed through the towering rock formations of the gorge to Hells Gate Waterfall. The opportunities for social moments are plentiful with the textures of rockwalls and foliage serving as a backdrops, and the casting of light and shadow making for stunning photographs.
Under a 15 minute drive from Echo Holiday Parks – Port Pirie, there is a small roadside parking bay at the start of the trail. Enter using the Scout Camp, green, maze-gate and veer right until you reach the fork. Either way will lead to the gorge. This trail is not accessible to everyone. Hikers comfortable with self-navigation are recommended as the 1 hour return trail is moderately difficult with no directional markers.

Naracoorte Caves
Explore the fascinating underground world of the Naracoorte Caves, South Australia's only World Heritage site. Renowned for their extensive fossil deposits, the guided tours offer a unique experience of walking down to 18 meters below the earth’s surface. The more adventurous can also try Adventure Caving, spelunking through tight passages. Those who wish to stay above ground can also enjoy self-exploring the surrounding nature trails where openings of the caves below can be looked into from above.

Bool Lagoon Game Reserve
Discover the natural beauty of Bool Lagoon. This stunning wetland is a sanctuary for numerous wildlife throughout the seasons making it a must-visit for nature lovers. Recognized internationally for its role in supporting migratory birds, means bird watchers, specifically, can see a range of species that are not there year-round. Other’s will enjoy walking on water to the bird hide, strolling along the boardwalk surrounded by the diverse vegetation and peacefulness of the wetland.
Under a 25 minute drive from Echo Holiday Parks - Naracoorte, there is an undesignated parking bay next to the entrance. The board walk is 500m and may not be accessible to everyone. Visitors can also see the vastness of the wetland reserve by taking a drive to the top of Big Hill.

Hart Lagoon
Nestled amongst windswept reeds, Hart Lagoon is a serene spot perfect for birdwatching and nature observation. Surrounded by wetlands, the habitat is home to diverse wildlife and supports a rich ecosystem. It’s important to tread carefully here, walking along the established, unpaved pathway to the bird hide provided for those wishing to take in views and sounds without disturbing the animals. The concealed hide allows naturalist to get closer to wildlife and see natural behaviours.
Under a 3 minute drive from Echo Holiday Parks - Waikerie, there is an undesignated parking bay next to the entrance. The pathway to the bird hide is short and easy walk. Visitors can also get there by walking the 5km Hart Lagoon loop from the Park. The pathway while easy, may not be accessible to everyone due to the natural terrain.

Waikerie Rotary Trail & Lookout
Running along the scenic banks of the River Murray, the Waikerie Rotary Trail overlooks the river terrain and the surrounding flora and fauna. Walk along the unpaved trail amongst the local artist murals, stopping off at multiple lookout points to admire the views, and take a picture with “Murray” by the painted silo in the selfie chair at the end. Those simply wanting to enjoy panoramic views can pull up right aside the look out at the end of the trail.
Under a 5 minute drive from Echo Holiday Parks - Waikerie, onsite parking is available at both the entrance of the trail and the look out. The trail is 2km and considered medium in difficultly with moderate inclines and declines. While the undulating trail may not be accessible to everyone, the look out at the end of the trail is level and may improve accessibility for some.

Olivewood Historic Homestead & Museum

Under a 10 minute drive from Echo Holiday Parks - Renmark, there is onsite parking for visitors, located near the entrance to the homestead. The museum and its grounds are designed to be accessible to visitors of all abilities. Pathways throughout the grounds are paved and well-maintained, and there are ramp thresholds and wide doorways allowing for wheelchair navigation and mobility aids.

Headings Cliff Lookout
Overlook panoramic views of the River Murray turning and winding through the striking, ochre gradient, cliffs at this renowned lookout. The subject of many tourism campaigns, this elevated vantage point is great for bird watching and seeing the riverine and river ecology. Photographers will bask in the dramatic frames, and hikers will enjoy the surrounding walking trails. Others will simply enjoy the sights seen.
Under a 15 minute drive from Echo Holiday Parks - Renmark, there is a designated parking area directly adjacent the lookout. The site is accessible with an established pathway ensuring visitors can conveniently access the site. The pathway to the lookout is short, relatively flat and clear. The more adventurous may wish to climb the lookout tower and get an even higher look.
